John Malkovich

JOHN MALKOVICH is one of the most inspiring but yet hard to fathom actors of our time.
During a recent visit to the Netherlands (promoting the Dutch film "Bloody Mondays & Strawberry Pies" - a movie about boredom) he was interviewed for television by a room full of young talents from the Dutch Film Academy. As was to be expected, his answers often created more food for thought than shed light on John's mind. He was truly being John Malkovich. Fascinating personality.

In the November 2008 issue of Esquire John Malkovich was interviewed by John H. Richardson. One particular answer leapt to attention, it deals with control and may give us a bit of support in fighting off feelings of depression in the current economic crises:
"I've pretty much learned not to worry about things I can't control. I often find myself with friends and acquaintances and they're worrying about this or that - I say, You're worried about the plane going down? What are you, a pilot?"

the secret afterlife of chickens

Preparing a decent and nutricious meal is a delicate matter, not to be taken lightly.

An old Chinese saying reads: "even without their heads, chickens have a mind of their own".

Last night I was busy in the kitchen when the doorbell rang. When I returned shortly afterwards, I was surprised to find the subjects of our forthcoming supper in a rather compromising position.

It instantly became clear that not only are the Chinese so right with their view on chickens, but this also proves that the minds of chickens are one track only and it's dirty!

I did ask the lovers in question if they wanted to comment on the situation, but unfortunately I was not graced a reply.

I am pretty sure that I have been the first to witness the latest in sexual trends for 2009:

Crisis? What crisis?

Just a short line that sprang to mind this morning:

"Stress is a rabbit caught in the headlights of a speeding car. Focus will get you to the other side of the highway"
